Mobile phones in India would soon have 11 digits. Currently all mobile phone numbers in India have 10 digits. The reason for this change is because the approximate base limit of 10 digit numbers is 450 million subscribers, which is likely to get exhausted as soon as by early next year.

So prepare to remember one more digit . Not a big task , is it?? 9 is most probably going to be the digit which will be prefixed to every Indian mobile phone number . Mobile phones in India are in huge demand . This was something that was not expected 4 to 5 years back . But the increase in demand for mobile phones as they become more affordable for the common man is the cause for this change .
